All excellant added features and improvements. Sounds like an update not to miss. I mentioned this in feature requests but will do so again here, a way of blocking email address by wildcard would be good too.

Unfortunately I don't have Time Machine. I could have forwarded time few weeks downloaded my copy and back in no time.

This is exactly why I purchased the full Unlimited License with all the Unlimited Addon Features because you guys are doing exactly what a progressive software developer is expected to do with your money. I am glad I spent the full amount with you.
I have made $13 dollars in the first week with $9 advertising. I have 26 more domains to setup on my server. That could become $105 a week or $450 a month. I will recoup in a month or two and then enjoy all the free money for the rest of the year. There's no recession here online. I just wanted to give my testimony here since it is one more way of looking at it. Plus I came here to see if more searching feature were coming in 1.6 and I see they are so thanks again everyone. i am enjoying a new version but I also have Link Effects, Advanced Link Stats and PageRank checker installed. I hope there will be an easy upgrade without necessity of files compare. You could make some plugin system or so for this...

I wish I could give an exact release date but the best I can say is "as fast as possible". We're getting very close and I'm putting as much time into development as possible - I hope to wrap up final features & fixes this week and see where we stand. If we need further testing and are not comfortable with an immediate release, we may be seeking beta testers. If we're feeling good about everything we'll just do the release after our own testing. Only if you have performed a lot of customizations will the upgrade require some possible file compare changes. I will post updates here as things progress and we get down to the release. :)

One quesiton that jsut comed up to mind while reading this topic.
Will be a feature for us to list several deep links.. I mean. For exemple: $9 = a link + 5 deep links $7 = a link + 4 deep links $5 = a link + 3 deeplinks You get the idea. I belive this owould be gold over blue for all of us. As for beta testers... I can run with easylinkdir.com, sicne I only have 10 visits daily and 3 listinds theres no worries regarding messing things up :) regards

I jsut saw this while submitting sites on phplinkdirectrory websites.
This I belive is a must. If you guys cant do it for this version, try to launch a patch later on. Heres a very good and strong reason. As a customer: I have a site with only one page that can interest me to submit as a deep link. So why should I pay extra $5 for 5 deep links if Im not going to use 4 of them.... So I only pay the $1 submission. As a seller: There goes an extra $5 Thinking like this, Im a lost customer to that particular bid directory... And I am a less cash in the pocket seller :P

As far as I know no Beta testers were contacted. I've been waiting for the new version before I go live with my site because of the Spam/Captcha problems in previous versions (I was told January for the release).
It's now March and have yet to see anything even regarding the Beta. Can anyone confirm they are testing a Beta?

The beta has not yet been released for testing, as the coders do not yet feel it is ready for final tests yet. Until they are satisfied that all known bugs are out, they will hold it back. I am on the beta test list, but I am sure Gabe will announce beta status before we actually get a copy of the new version.
As to the expected release of January, anyone who has ever been an actual coder, knows that murphys law is in full effect in any large update and sh*t happns. As to the spam/captcha problem, I really have not seen a single automated submission on any of my sites that has made it past the standard captcha. What I do see a lot of are manual submissions by indian submision companies, and no amount of spam prevention is going to solve that issue without blocking all of india.

Let the developers fine tune the software! That's why phplinkbid is so good and reliable! Don't get me wrong I'm excited to see the nest release too. How does cost work when upgrading? Is it free?

All i can suggest if you haven't already is adding a very good search function. ie:
Have an option where a simple customizable home page so a user can enter keywords, the sub-directory folder would be classed as a keyword, and then the "tags" you mentioned in this next 1.6 release would also be classed as a keywords users can then bid for keywords potentially there are millions of these. Once a person enters their keywords and clicks the search button it redirects to a search results page that is fully customizable. based on keywords customers can then bid for them (ie: "cars" or "cars los angeles" are examples of keywords that can be bid against in the "Automobiles" category, however the user may simply enter they keywords or tags to search. So in effect it is kind of like a hybrid search engine cross directory. or the admin user can select different types of modes, traditional: directory mode, or search engine mode. i dunno but its something that would be nice. However, seeing that people have been waiting for a while for the 1.6 release maybe you might like to make it a patch or add on later.

Since version 1.6 still isn't released, maybe you can make an option to integrade Google Custom Search. This is greate to narrow a search (by users) to those sites only listed on your directory! :cool:

I would imagine that it is more frustrating to the developer than the user for a script to be delayed this much. Let's hope things get back on track soon.

Your statement would be true with some assumptions. -- And I think those assumptions are wrong. My be I am too frustrated. Google kind of took a Iron hand on Bidding directories.

What does that mean, kind of? because I can't find anything Google is talking about that would effect Biding Directories, which are TRADITIONAL PAID ADVERTISING classified's, and if I ever bow to Google that will be the day I sue them for offending my right to run my small advertising company. If you can find some facts and share them about their potentially fascist offense show me so we can organize a class action law suet for influence peddling or a clear monopoly offense against free enterprise. Try to take any signature links you found on this forum.
and google for the for that directory and see what you can get. It is not specific to one directory: It is a story across the board. If the new version allow Articles etc that may help and that is the reason I say do not install the current version. When you get the latest version, that may be better suited. When is the new version coming? That is a million dollar question.

Don't have that problem with my directory, maybe because i enabled no_follow a few months ago.
It was first for test but than after a few weeks the number of visitors grow a little bit and besides that some advertisers complained that i didn't use no-follow had a negative affect on there pagerank. Anyway, i leave it this way .......... (no negative effect found yet)

I am sorry to say this - But the owner looks like abandoned the script expect he is very actively selling the script. Keep getting emails about discounts etc. No word on updates or modifications This is very bad - I feel like I am cheated.
